PBC Jabs: June 8, 2017

On this episode of PBC Jabs we check-in with the newly crowned 147-pound champ Errol Spence Jr, we recap our light heavyweight matchup between Adonis Stevenson and Andrzej Fonfara and we preview our June 11th PBC on FS1 show.

On May 27th boxing fans around the world tuned in to see how American welterweight Errol Spence Jr. would fare in his toughest fight yet against British world champ Kell Brook. The first half of the fight was evenly scored, but it was Spence who turned up the heat down the stretch, winning most of the late rounds and eventually stopping Brook by knockout in the 11th round. We thought we’d check in with the new champ to see what’s next for him.

On June 3rd PBC brought you a light heavyweight matchup on Showtime featuring a rematch between WBC champ Adonis Stevenson and Poland’s Andrzej Fonfara. Stevenson took early control of the fight sending the “Polish Prince” to the canvas in round one. Then, in round 2, Stevenson unleashed an onslaught of power punches forcing Fonfara’s trainer, Virgil Hunter, to stop the fight, giving Stevenson his eighth world title defense victory.

PBC on FS1 returns Sunday June 11th from the Pioneer Event Center in Lancaster, California. The main event will feature former world champion Brandon Rios taking on Mexican veteran Aaron Herrera in a 147-pound bout. The fists start flying at 10:30pm Eastern / 7:30pm Pacific.
